The purpose of the work is to theoretically substantiate the organizational and pedagogical conditions for the development of artistic and creative abilities through sculpture.
The methodological basis of the research is general theoretical methods: analysis of pedagogical and psychological literature; comparison, systematization, generalization, interpretation of the results obtained on the research problem.
The scientific novelty lies in the fact that for the first time, the organizational and pedagogical conditions for the development of students' artistic and creative abilities through sculpture have been substantiated, taking into account their nature and the peculiarities of sculpture as a special type of fine art.
Conclusions. It has been established that artistic and creative abilities are manifested and can be revealed in various types of individual activity – in the perception of works of art, in experiencing emotions from what is seen, in transforming one's own experience of interaction with certain types of art, in creating one's own creative product. The main indicators of artistic and creative abilities are: aesthetic attitude; divergent thinking; artistic and creative imagination; practical skills and abilities in artistic activity (sculpture).
The organizational and pedagogical conditions for the development of students' artistic and creative abilities through sculpture in an art school are determined: enrichment of students' aesthetic and artistic experience – as a basic one, since the sensory-emotional, life and aesthetic and cultural experience of the individual are the foundations for the work of aesthetic imagination, its implementation in creative activity; positive motivation for artistic and creative activity; involvement of students in productive creative activity using creative tasks for the development of artistic and creative abilities; sufficient material and technical support for the process of teaching sculpture, since the effective implementation of the prerequisites is impossible without an appropriate material and technical base.
The prospects for further research in this area are the creation of a structural-functional model that will ensure the effective implementation of the development of students' artistic and creative abilities through sculpture.
