ACADEMIC INTEGRITY IN THE MODERN HIGHER EDUCATION SYSTEM IN UKRAINE

Abstract

The article examines the issue of academic integrity, which is relevant for the educational and scientific community. It is found that the European integration vectors of the development of Ukraine and, accordingly, domestic higher education have prompted reforms and changes in legislation in this area. Ukraine is actively participating in pan-European trends in education and the principles of academic integrity as part of the legal culture of the modern civilized world.

The purpose of the article is to analyze academic integrity in the modern conditions of the development of higher education in Ukraine, associated with its reform and intensification of the use of digital technologies in the educational process and scientific research.

Research methodology. The study is based on the analysis of modern theoretical concepts of domestic philosophers, teachers and lawyers, who consider the most relevant issues of the formation of academic integrity in higher education in Ukraine. To achieve the stated goal of the article, a complex of general scientific theoretical methods of analyzing normative and scientific literature and generalizing theoretical material was used.

Scientific novelty. The publication found that the formation of academic integrity is an important priority for the higher education system in Ukraine, its qualitative functioning and competitive representation in the global educational space. It is proven that the effectiveness of the culture of academic integrity depends on the level of compliance with moral and ethical principles, compliance with legal norms and the ability of all participants in the educational process to transform external control into their own internal beliefs of integrity.

Conclusions. The formation of academic integrity is an important factor in the qualitative development of higher education in Ukraine. This process occurs through the production of procedures and the creation of conditions that would not require resorting to academic dishonesty, performing the role of social control. Academic integrity, expressed in the form of norms and permissions, prohibitions and sanctions, covers the ethical and ontological dimensions of the behavior of higher education subjects, affects the formation of their professional ethics.
