Issues of storage and primary processing of crop production are included in the educational program for the professional training of future agronomists as a normative educational component.
The purpose of the article is to define and justify the content of professional training of future agronomists in the technology of storage and primary processing of crop production.
The subject of the academic discipline «Technology of storage and primary processing of crop products» in the professional training of future agronomists is the technological stages and operations implemented in the process of storing agricultural raw materials and products of their processing in order to minimize quantitative and qualitative losses.
The main goal of training future agronomists in the technology of storage and primary processing of crop products is to develop specific competencies for solving problems related to the preservation of grown agricultural products of plant origin, taking into account the technological, economic, and regional characteristics of agricultural enterprises, using modern technologies for the primary processing of raw materials based on scientific and technical achievements.
The research methodology was based on the ideas of systemic, personality-oriented, activity-based, competency-based, and technological approaches in education.
Scientific novelty. Based on a theoretical analysis of the scientific and practical justification of the technology for storing and primary processing of crop products, relying on the ideas of a systematic, personality-oriented, activity-based, competency-based, and technological approaches in education, methodological recommendations have been developed regarding the structure and content of training future agronomists in the problems of storage and primary processing of crop products.
Conclusions. The goal of developing the professional competence of future agronomists in the technology of storage and primary processing of crop products can be achieved through the appropriate content of theoretical and practical training in the course «Technology of storage and primary processing of crop products» with the integration of digital technologies, improving production training, and introducing a competency-based approach to the educational process of training future agronomists.
