The article explores the socio-creative potential of the philosophical and educational ideas of the outstanding Ukrainian philosopher, Doctor of Philosophy, Professor Volodymyr Shevchenko, founder of the Chernihiv Philosophical and Educational Center for Researchers of the Philosophical Heritage of Thinkers of the Chernihiv Literary and Philosophical Circle of the 17th – early 18th centuries, in particular, and the Chernihiv-Siverskyi region, in general. However, V. Shevchenko’s scientific interests were not focused only on the regional philosophy of education in Ukraine. He tried to explore the socio-creative potential of the philosophical and educational ideas of Ukrainian thinkers from antiquity to the present day. His philosophical and educational research is aimed at identifying the features of the Ukrainian cultural and civilizational phenomenon as the basis of national culture, education, worldview, and mentality. Therefore, the philosophical and educational heritage of V. Shevchenko and its socio-creative potential are the subject of our research, because this issue has been little studied by modern domestic philosophical and educational and pedagogical science.
The purpose of the work is to clarify the features of the formation and development of the socio-creative potential of the philosophical and educational ideas of V. Shevchenko.
The methodology of the work is based on a pluralistic methodological approach using philosophical and educational and general scientific methodological approaches for a comprehensive study of the philosophical and educational heritage of V. Shevchenko.
The scientific novelty lies in the creative approach and reinterpretation of the philosophical and educational heritage of the outstanding domestic thinker V. Shevchenko and his role in the formation of modern Ukrainian philosophical and educational thought aimed at a patriotically oriented society in the state of Ukraine.
Conclusions. The research we conducted highlights the socio-creative potential of the philosophical and educational heritage of the Chernihiv philosopher V. Shevchenko, whose philosophical and educational work gives us the opportunity to fully understand the cultural and educational path of the formation of Ukrainian society, national education, culture, philosophy and the state of Ukraine. An important aspect of the thinker's philosophical and educational teachings is the search for methodological foundations for the implementation of the socio-creative potential of his philosophical and educational ideas in the field of philosophy and pedagogy in the conditions of the development of Ukrainian society, culture, education and science.
