The relevance of the topic is due to the fact that in the modern history of social and philosophical thought in Ukraine, thinkers-philosophers quite often in their scientific and philosophical research rely on the works of the outstanding Ukrainian philosopher M. Mykhalchenko. After all, he not only theoretically, as a professor of a higher educational institution, but also in practice as the head of the domestic policy service of the President of Ukraine. He embodied in life social and philosophical ideas related to Ukrainians as subjects of socio-historical processes who met with great hopes in 1991 the change of historical era. And they strove for their own, independent of the «Russian empire», development of Ukrainian education, economy, culture and social policy.
It is in this connection that the social and philosophical issues on which Ukrainian social philosophers worked were significantly updated at that time. In view of this public demand, M. Mykhalchenko, together with V. Andrushchenko, wrote a whole series of works devoted to modern social philosophy. It was these studies of Ukrainian scientists-researchers, later with the assistance of the Ukrainian Academy of Political Sciences, that will receive their logical reflection in a two-volume publication entitled «Modern Social Philosophy», which remains relevant to this day.
For Ukrainian social philosophers, scientific explorations and socio-philosophical ideas of M. Mykhalchenko continue to have value and significance, as the ideas of a thinker who was not only a theorist but also a practitioner. All this today inspires us to a detailed scientific and philosophical analysis of the works of the Ukrainian philosopher, who in theory and in practice enriched the history of social and philosophical thought of Ukraine in different periods of its formation and development. Therefore, we are convinced that the study of the socio-philosophical heritage of M. Mykhalchenko and its fundamental role in modern Ukraine by highlighting the socio-philosophical ideas of the thinker is becoming increasingly relevant for the Ukrainian people today.
The purpose of the work is to analyze the socio-philosophical heritage of M. Mykhalchenko, which is relevant to the modern philosophical and educational development of Ukraine. And to highlight the socio-philosophical ideas and views of the thinker on the problems of man as a subject of the socio-historical process.
The methodological basis is the result of the socio-philosophical search for the key socio-philosophical ideas of M. Mykhalchenko to the issues of socio-philosophical thought of Ukraine, on which he focused his attention in his research. In particular, these are: Ukrainian socio-cultural tradition, social value of the presence of freedom of choice for Ukrainians, personal social orientation to certain standards of functioning of social institutions in the state and responsibility for compliance with them of the Ukrainian person.
The scientific novelty of our research lies in the fact that the practical significance and expediency of applying M. Mykhalchenko's socio-philosophical ideas when highlighting the problems of man as a subject of the socio-historical process in Ukraine have been clarified. After all, his attention was focused precisely on the Ukrainian person as a carrier of the socio-cultural traditions of his people. Fostering the faith of Ukrainians in the need for free choice for man is the socio-political development of the state and society. On the positive role of personal social orientation aimed at adhering to certain standards of functioning of social institutions in the state and the responsibility of a person in Ukraine for their observance. And it is these socio-philosophical ideas of M. Mikhalchenko today, during the war with Russian aggressors, that have the ideological and practical ability for Ukrainians to resist the imperial ambitions of the Russians and preserve the Ukrainian national identity.
Conclusions. The research we conducted is aimed at highlighting the socio-philosophical heritage of M. Mykhalchenko that is relevant to the present day and analyzing his socio-philosophical ideas and views on the problems of man as a subject of the socio-historical process in Ukraine. It shows that the socio-philosophical heritage of M. Mykhalchenko was and remains a solid foundation for the development of Ukrainian socio-philosophical thought in its theoretical and practical reflection.
Therefore, relying on the socio-philosophical ideas of our domestic thinkers, among whom Professor Mykola Ivanovich Mykhalchenko occupies a prominent place. Scientists, students and Ukrainian society in general will receive a specific «road map» for orientation of both personal and state social development. Which is aimed at supporting and consolidating the socio-political achievements of Ukrainian society and the state of Ukraine, in terms of a person's free choice of the socio-political development of his state and society in general and of the Ukrainian as an individual in particular.
Significant is M. Mykhalchenko's emphasis on the key role of Ukrainians as carriers of the socio-cultural traditions of their people, the high culture of socio-philosophical thinking of the Ukrainian person of today. In the thinker's opinion, it should also be appropriate for the state to support the personal social orientation of Ukrainians aimed at adhering to certain standards of functioning of social institutions in the state and the responsibility of a person in Ukraine for their observance. As a result, all this should become social standards of life for Ukrainians, become established in the socio-political space of our state and contribute to the process of formation and development of nationally conscious citizens of Ukraine.
At the same time, as M. Mykhalchenko emphasized, Ukrainian socio-philosophical thought in its historical development has always been oriented towards the best models and examples of European social philosophy with appropriate rethinking and correction in the context of the Ukrainian socio-cultural tradition. The foundation for the full development of the entire spectrum of socio-philosophical thought has been and remains the ideological and practical activity of our thinkers. After all, it is precisely on it that the existence of a person in Ukraine, which is based on the value of freedom of choice as an existential focus of our citizens on individual responsibility for choosing their actions, protecting their family and protecting their country, mainly influences.
In addition, M. Mykhalchenko sees as significant in the socio-political development of Ukrainians their humanism in their attitude to all things and the perfect mastery of the philosophy of critical thinking by people in the socio-state existence. It is she who has been in the vast majority of the troubles that have befallen Ukraine in its history. Very often she has helped our people to critically comprehend the socio-political situation and direct the available energy and ideological initiative of Ukrainians into the right direction.
Therefore, the socio-philosophical heritage of M. Mykhalchenko, which is supported by his ideas, which found logical reflection in his scientific and philosophical works, plays a fundamental role in the free development of socio-philosophical thought in Ukraine. In our opinion, it is M. Mykhalchenko who, with his ideological and practical socio-philosophical work, has introduced a fundamental positive impulse into the cultural, philosophical, social, political and state-building development of Ukraine.
