Abstract

This article examines the use of creative tasks in music lessons as an effective means of fostering the harmonious development of students’ personalities. The relevance of fostering creativity in the context of modern school education is substantiated, as this education is geared towards preparing creative, thinking individuals capable of self-realisation and adaptation within a dynamic socio-cultural environment. The role of music as an important factor in the emotional, intellectual and aesthetic development of students, as well as in the formation of their motivation to learn, is identified.

The purpose of the article is to provide a theoretical justification of the nature of creative tasks in music lessons, to identify their developmental potential, and to analyse current pedagogical experience of their use in the process of shaping the creative personality of learners.

Research methodology. The study employed a range of interrelated theoretical and empirical methods, which enabled a comprehensive analysis of the use of creative tasks in music education for adolescents.

In particular, the following theoretical methods were employed: analysis, synthesis, generalisation and systematisation of the academic literature in pedagogy, psychology and music teaching methodology, with the aim of defining the essence of the concept of ‘creative tasks’, their structure and developmental potential. A comparative analysis of scientific approaches has revealed the distinctive features of the interpretation of creative activity in the works of domestic and foreign researchers.

Among the empirical methods employed was pedagogical observation of learners’ educational activities during music lessons, with the aim of identifying the impact of creative tasks on the development of their musical and creative abilities. An analysis of music teachers’ pedagogical experience regarding the integration of creative tasks into the teaching process was also carried out.

Scientific novelty. This paper examines in detail the concept of creative tasks, their main characteristics, and how they differ from traditional reproductive activities. Their essence and structure are clarified. It is emphasised that such tasks significantly enhance the cognitive activity of learners, and contribute to the development of musical abilities, imagination, figurative thinking and the capacity for artistic interpretation.

Conclusions. Creative tasks are an extremely powerful means of improving the quality of music education. They enable not only the transfer of knowledge and the development of practical skills, but also the all-round development of the learner’s personality, the realisation of their creative potential, and the fostering of a lasting interest in the arts.
