Abstract

The purpose of the work is to formulate and theoretically substantiate the features of the formation of visual culture of students of art specialties in modern conditions.

The methodological basis of the study is a complex of general scientific and special research methods, in particular, analysis and synthesis of scientific sources, comparative analysis of Ukrainian and foreign educational practices, as well as generalization of the results of empirical and conceptual research in the field of art pedagogy, digital education, and cultural studies.

The scientific novelty lies in the fact that for the first time the features of the formation of visual culture of students of art majors in modern conditions have been formulated and theoretically substantiated.

Conclusions. It has been established that the formation of visual culture includes the following aspects: complexity and multilevelness, development of visual literacy, critical thinking, active, activity-based approach, visual thinking, social and technological context.

It has been determined that the visual culture of an individual integrates several key components: cognitive (knowledge): understanding the principles of image construction, knowledge of art history, media and symbolism; perceptual-axiological (perception and values): The ability to perceive, analyze and evaluate visual products; activity (skills): the ability to create one's own images, visualize thoughts and use various means to create images. The formation of the visual culture of an individual requires systematic work on each of these components as an element of a single system.

Today, in art education, it is critically important to bridge the gap between traditional academic training and the latest visual practices that are dynamically developing in the digital age. The proposed approaches have the potential to improve the quality of training of art professionals, make them competitive in the global cultural environment, capable of critical thinking and creative self-realization in the information age.
