INTEGRATION OF SUSTAINABLE FASHION PRINCIPLES INTO THE TRAINING OF FUTURE SPECIALISTS IN THE LIGHT INDUSTRY

Abstract

The article examines the features of integrating sustainable fashion principles into the system of professional training of future specialists in the light industry. The relevance of greening the educational process in the context of global challenges and the transformation of the fashion industry is substantiated. The essence of the concept of sustainable fashion, its main principles, and its influence on the formation of professional competencies of students are determined. Modern approaches to environmental training in higher education institutions are analyzed. The directions for integrating sustainable development principles into the educational process of training future specialists in the garment industry are proposed.

The purpose of the article is to substantiate the theoretical and practical foundations for integrating sustainable fashion principles into the training of future specialists in the light industry.

The research methodology includes the analysis and synthesis of scientific and pedagogical literature, official and regulatory documents on the development of the sustainable fashion concept and its impact on the educational process; comparison and generalization of scientific views on the problem; analysis of domestic and foreign experience in training specialists in the light industry; a systemic approach to considering professional training as a holistic process of competency formation; a competency-based approach that ensures the orientation of the educational process towards learning outcomes; modeling of the content of educational components taking into account the principles of sustainable development; and the method of generalization for forming conclusions and practical recommendations.

The scientific novelty of the obtained results lies in clarifying the content of the concept of «integration of sustainable fashion principles» in the context of professional education; substantiating pedagogical conditions for the effective implementation of sustainable development principles in the training of garment industry specialists; modeling directions for updating the content of educational and professional programs through the inclusion of topics such as circular economy, eco-design, responsible production and consumption; determining the role of an interdisciplinary approach in the formation of students’ environmental culture; and proposing practice-oriented learning forms (project-based learning, case methods, cooperation with enterprises) aimed at implementing sustainable fashion principles.

Conclusions. The integration of sustainable fashion principles into the training of future specialists in the light industry is an important direction for the modernization of professional education. It has been established that the implementation of environmentally oriented educational content, innovative pedagogical technologies, and practice-oriented learning contributes to the formation of students’ environmental competence. Prospects for further research include the development of methodological support for integrating sustainable fashion into educational programs and assessing the level of environmental competence formation in future specialists.
