PATRIOTIC EDUCATION OF HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS IN EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES OF PHYSICAL CULTURE

The article examines the problem of patriotic education of students in the process of extracurricular work on physical education. The purpose of the scientific research was to experimentally substantiate the expediency of using the means of physical culture in the patriotic education of high school students in the process of extracurricular work. The role and place of physical culture in the patriotic upbringing of schoolchildren has been studied. Evaluation criteria and indicators of the levels of patriotic upbringing of high school students were determined. The expediency of using the means of physical culture in the patriotic education of schoolchildren in the process of extracurricular work is substantiated experimentally (on the example of the physical culture and patriotic group). The positive changes that occurred during the experimental work confirmed the effectiveness of the proposed program.
The analysis of the essence of patriotic education of student youth and its meaningful content in the extracurricular work of a general secondary education institution made it possible to define it as a complex, systematic activity that involves a close connection of various forms of its organization with the life and everyday activities of high school students. It has been established that the basic value of physical education in the education of patriotism lies in the fact that they are a sphere of manifestation of high morality, spirituality, humanity, kindness, education of the will to victory, courage, perseverance, organization and discipline in high school students.
