Conclusions. The course «Art and Image», which is taught as a compulsory educational discipline in primary schools in Italy, has great potential for the implementation of labor education of pupils. In the lessons, younger pupils create souvenirs, gifts, holiday products using various techniques; perform art projects; visit museums and cultural centers, getting acquainted with decorative and applied arts and traditional crafts. In the process of work, an independent, responsible, hardworking personality is formed; able to creatively perform tasks; to help others; treat objects, products and tools with care; respect people of different professions. In the «Art and Image» lessons, teachers use traditional teaching methods (frontal conversation, explanation, instruction, experiments, demonstration of product samples, teacher’s demonstration of labor techniques, practical work) and innovative technologies: game, information and communication, interactive, problem-based and project-based. The main organizational form of education is the lesson. Depending on the goals of the lesson, teachers use frontal, group and individual forms of organization of educational work. Labor education of younger schoolchildren is also carried out outside of school hours during master classes and training of pupils in specialized creative laboratories that operate at schools. The conducted research does not cover all aspects of the mentioned problem. Further study is required for the implementation of labor education of pupils in the process of extracurricular work in primary schools in Italy.
