Abstract

Articles purpose is to highlight the basic principles of online games that are appropriate for use during gamified education. Based on our previous research on the attitude of future IT-specialists to online games and gamification as a modern educational trend, as well as on the analysis of scientific works and the experience of foreign scientists, we have identified the most appropriate principles of online games that can be used for gamified education.
Methodology of the research is formed by theoretical general scientific methods (analysis and synthesis, comparison and generalization); game theory; scientific approaches (competence-based, technological and personality-oriented).
Scientific novelty is consists in establishing the basic principles of online games, the use of which is promising for gamification education of future IT specialists.
Conclusions. The issue of effective use of gamification for the formation of the competencies of future specialists is of particular relevance in the IT industry. Indeed, for future IT specialists, the use of information technology tools is a common occurrence, so the use of these technologies by teachers during training allows you to switch to the «language» of students. The use of smartphones, playing online games, as well as almost constant stay in social networks, constant online exchange of opinions, as well as the use of artificial intelligence are commonplace for them. The readiness of the teacher to go an unusual way for conservative education, awareness of the motives and the need to do this is manifested in the practical application of gamification during pedagogical activity. An analysis of foreign research on the principles of online games, game design and game mechanics made it clear that there are different classifications of game principles and different possibilities and prospects for their use during education. In our research, we have identified exactly those principles of online games that we consider appropriate to apply to gamified education. The results of our research, we have identified seven basic online games principles that can be used during gamified education: the principle of timely receipt of information; the principle of goal setting; the principle of individuality and conformity; the principle of consistency; the principle of gaining experience; the principle of motivation; the principle of cooperation and teamwork.
We see further research in the experimental implementation of the identified basic principles of online games for gamified training of future IT specialists to form their key competencies.
