PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCE AND ASSESSMENT OF ITS FORMATION IN FUTURE SPECIALISTS IN THE FIELD OF TRANSPORT

The article considers aspects of formation of future specialists in the field of transport from the standpoint of the competence approach. An indicator of the quality of vocational education today is the formation of professional competence of future professionals. The approaches to the definition of the concept of «professional competence» are analyzed and generalized and the assessment of its formation in future specialists in the field of transport is determined. Objective of the article is to find out the essence of the concept of «professional competence», to identify the components of professional competence of the future specialist in the field of transport and the criteria and indicators of its formation.
Methodology. During the preparation of the material there was an analysis of psychological and pedagogical literature and substantiation on its basis of the theoretical provisions of the study; monitoring the formation of professional competence of future specialists in the field of transport and qualitative verification of its formation.
Scientific novelty. The study defines the essence of the concept of «professional competence», clarifies the components of the structure of professional competence of future specialists in the field of transport and identifies criteria and indicators of its formation.
Conclusions. The professional competence of a graduate of VET is the main result of his professional training, which determines his competitiveness in the services market. The professional competence of a future specialist is the level of personal mastery of knowledge, skills and abilities in the relevant specialty, having which it is able to successfully set and implement
tasks related to professional activities.
The structure of professional competence of the future specialist in the field of transport includes: emotional-volitional, motivational-value, cognitive, communicative and creative-activity components.
The defined criteria, indicators and levels of formation of professional competence of future specialists in the field of transport are the basis for diagnosing the current state and analyzing the effectiveness of pedagogical influences on the studied category of specialists.
