The aim of the work was to determine the effectiveness of the programs used during physical education, which were aimed at forming the readiness of girls – future officers for physical self-development.
The methodology involved the use of a set of research methods that were appropriate to the goal: general science methods (analysis, synthesis, systematization) to develop sources of information; psychodiagnostic testing (L. Berezhnov test – Reflection on self-development) to determine the state of girls – future officers physical self-development formation; pedagogical experiment for the optimal organization of research, namely the implementation of its formative stage; mathematical statistics methods - for the correct processing of the obtained empirical data. A total of 182 girls took part in the study, which was divided to two study groups. The age of the girls was 21.7 ± 1.3 years; they were students of higher military education and began their studies in the last year. Different physical self-development programs were used in each research group during one academic year. Based on the data obtained at the beginning and the end of the pedagogical experiment, it was made a conclusion about the effectiveness of both of the two programs used in shaping the readiness of girls – future officers to physical self-development.
Scientific novelty: the data on the high efficiency of the author’s program, which is part of the method of forming the readiness of girls – future officers to physical self-development in the process of physical education at the military academy were received; the effectiveness of the developed concepts and models of the formation of such readiness to ensure professional activity has been confirmed at a high level; there was a further development of knowledge about the structure and organization, content, which are realized during the physical education of girls, and contribute to the achievement of high positive results in their professional training at the stages of training at the military academy.
Conclusions. The use of the experimental program provided a statistically higher result in the formation of readiness and self-assessment of qualities that ensure the implementation of physical self-development of girls – future officers, compared with the use of current in military academies content of physical education.
