JOURNALISTIC GENRES WITHIN THE UKRAINIAN LANGUAGE COURSE AT SCHOOL: CONTENT, PURPOSE, LEARNING SYSTEM

Аrticle’s purpose. In the paper the studies of journalistic style within the Ukrainian language course at school are analyzed, its main characteristics and purpose are revealed, theoretical aspects of journalistic genres are researched. A systemic analysis of the linguodidactic basis of studying journalistic style at Ukrainian language classes at comprehensive school is provided.
Мethodology. Methods of functional, contextual, structural semantic analysis were used in the study.
Scientific novelty. Linguistic material on journalistic style was set out in a systemic way and interpreted in the light of methods of teaching Stylistics of the Ukrainian language.
The order of studying journalistic genres within the Ukrainian language course at school is presented in the paper.
Journalistic substyles, as well as the purpose and main characteristics of the journalistic style are listed; lexical, morphological, and syntactical peculiarities of the journalistic style are revealed; views of Ukrainian linguists on the sphere of its use are described, definitions of each of the main journalistic genres, including the essay, the paragraph, the reportage, the interview, the article, the letter, the review are provided according to up-to-date textbooks on Stylistics of the Ukrainian language.
The author has analyzed the blog as a new kind of communication, and its main functions, including general cultural (intellectual), informational and communicational, didactic, psychological, and social ones. Instructions on how to start a blog are provided. The post is characterized as a social network genre, presenting the author’s standpoint on the Internet.
The post is also analyzed as a communication genre.
Сonclusions. Modern, precise and correct organization of work on journalistic text creation will help the students achieve the expected results of their educational activity, which, in turn, will facilitate the stylistic competence formation in high school students. One of the suggestions is the specification of the systemic presentation of linguistic material on journalistic style and its interpretation in the light of methods of teaching Stylistics of the Ukrainian language in accordance with modern requirements.
