CREATING A HEALTHY ENVIRONMENT IN A MODERN PRESCHOOL EDUCATION INSTITUTION

Abstract

The purpose of the study is to uncover general approaches to creating a health-care environment, principles and priorities for health-care activities in a modern preschool setting.

The methodology reveals methods, forms and means of creating a health-saving environment with the use of traditional and innovative health-saving technologies in preschool education in order to provide special knowledge and skills to preschoolers to shape, maintain and strengthen their health for many years ahead.

The scientific novelty of the obtained research results is determined by the formulation and comprehensive development of the topical issue, which still remains insufficiently studied. It is based on the results of experimental work in a preschool establishment № 2 of a sanatorium type for children with tuberculosis situated in Pryluky, Chernihiv region, on the problem of «Creating a 
health-saving environment for health education of preschool children».

The experimental establishment clearly identifies the priorities for health and wellbeing: the content of the training (programs, guidelines); wellness technologies and the content of general education; assistance for the teaching staff (doctors, psychologists, etc.).

The system of health education in the indicated establishment is based on the following activities: 1. Creating a health-saving education environment. 2. Use of health-saving and healthforming
technologies in the learning process. 3. Training in healthy lifestyle.

The teacher should become a major figure in the formation of a cult of healthy lifestyle for preschoolers; to be an example of a harmoniously developed, socially active person who possesses
knowledge in the field of health culture. It is important, and it is confirmed experimentally, to form a healthy lifestyle in such a sequence: knowledge, awareness, attitude, confidence in the ability to
change one’s own behavior, skills, behavior.

Conclusions. Therefore, one of the solutions to the problem of maintaining and improving wellbeing in a modern preschool setting is to create a health-saving environment.
