The main methodological approaches of this article are theoretical analysis and synthesis, systematization, generalization of information presented in scientific sources of information.

Scientific novelty consists in the generalization of data and analysis of the level of endurance results in athletics in the world, on the basis of which, identified the main proposals for improving the process of training athletes and developed a plan-scheme for training the Ukrainian national track and field team in the sports season. 2021-2022 (by the case of middle distance running)

Conclusion. Analysis of the level of results in endurance in the world, allows us to conclude that the priority types of endurance for representatives of European countries, including Ukraine, are running 800 m (women), 3000 m obstacle race (women), marathon (women) and athletic walking (men and women). World sports practice shows that the winners of the world's largest forums in endurance are athletes with a clearly planned system of long-term, four-year and annual training. At the same time, it is important to adhere to an individual and scientifically sound strategy in the scope of training work and competitive practice.
