Recently in Ukraine there is a tendency to study the experience of the educational systems of European countries. Denmark is one of the most economically advanced country in the world with an effective system of education and social protection for the population, which has gone a long way in its history of being influenced by internal and external factors.
The purpose of the work is to analyze the features of higher education in Denmark and to reveal its practice-oriented approach.
Methodology. In the process of writing the article a complex of research methods was used: theoretical (analysis and synthesis, comparison, systematization) and empirical (analysis of regulatory documents and products of activity).
Scientific novelty. The author focuses on the feasibility and effectiveness of using a practice-oriented approach to the professional training of future teachers of the Kingdom of Denmark in the domestic educational environment. It has been found that the higher education system in Denmark is defined as binary because it involves the university and non-university sectors: the higher education institutions are divided into three types (universities, secondary vocational schools and colleges) and they are dominated not by theoretical training of future specialists, but by a practically oriented approach. Higher education is directly funded by the state, but institutions are allowed to provide paid additional educational services. The analysis of the literature on the problem of research gives reason to claim that the Danish students in their studies are extremely active and focused, because in addition to attending traditional lectures, they participate in open discussions with their teachers and classmates, are engaged in project work.
Conclusion. The higher education system of Denmark has a high level of development and is ranked high in terms of performance across Europe and the world. The study of the relevant topic made it possible to identify the main features of the practical orientation of the training of future specialists, in particular teachers, who can be effectively introduced into the national education system.
