SCIENTIFIC APPROACHES TO THE STUDY OF THE PROBLEM OF CIVIC MATURITY FORMATION IN THE PROCESS OF PROFESSIONAL TRAINING OF FUTURE TEACHERS

The article analyzes the scientific approaches of modern scientists, based on the views of the outstanding teacher V. Sukhomlinsky, to study the problem of formation of civic maturity, citizenship, civic competence, civic responsibility in the process of training future teachers. The authors made an attempt to substantiate the process of formation of civic maturity in future teachers.
Аrticle’s purpose – is to analyze the process of formation of civic maturity in future teachers.
The methodology is based on the general principles and basic modern provisions of pedagogical science, psychology, and reflects the relationship of methodological approaches to the study of scientific and methodological views of domestic scientists on the problem of civic maturity.
Scientific novelty: it is substantiated that civic maturity is a consequence of the formation of civic competence of the future teacher; the process of studying civic competence as a social phenomenon was further developed.
Conclusions. 1. Civic education is the formation of a conscious citizen, patriot, professional – a person who has personal qualities and character traits, worldview and way of thinking, feelings, actions and behavior aimed at self-development and development of democratic civil society in Ukraine. 2. Citizenship is a spiritual and moral value, worldview and psychological characteristics of a person, which determines his duty and responsibility to compatriots and the Motherland. 3. Civic competence must be based in the process on civic values and cannot be realized outside the system of value orientations and is carried out only in the joint activities of those who teach and learn. 4. Civic responsibility is an intellectual relationship, ideological and educational relations, labor relations, which embody civic ideas, specific work, amateur and creative and playful relationships. 5. Civic maturity is characterized by social values (patriotism, internationalism, responsibility, duty, devotion to the state) and personal qualities (purposefulness, organization, independence, diligence, persistence).
