THE USE OF SPORTS ANIMATION IN THE FORMATION OF SCHOOL HEALTH CULTURE

Abstract

The article highlights the urgency of the problem of student’s health culture forming in general secondary education. The study reveals the concept of sports animation as the main direction of animation activities aimed at strengthening and improving the health of students. The main characteristics of mental structures responsible for the state of health of the individual are considered. Several potentials of animation activity as one of the components of physical culture and health activity are given.

The purpose of the work is to reveal the features of sports animation as a means of forming a culture of school health.

Research methodology. The study was performed at Physical Education and Sports Faculty of Kherson State University and general secondary schools № 55 and № 32 in Kherson. All participants (3rd-year students of the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports of KSU, as well as 256 middle school students) gave an informed consent to participate in the experiment.

The scientific novelty of the work is that for the first-time sports animation as a means of forming a culture of school health has been comprehensively studied.

Work results and key conclusions. As part of the internship program at the secondary schools of Kherson, students mainly used various forms of sports animation activities: health days, competitions, holidays, and other active activities aimed at promoting a healthy lifestyle; demonstration performances, flash mobs, quests, sports and sports-game competitions of recreational and entertaining nature, etc. All forms demonstrate examples of strength, agility, show beauty, boundless possibilities of physical and intellectual improvement of the person. The results of the study confirmed the effectiveness of the use of sports animation in the process of forming a culture of school health.
