Abstract

The purpose of the work is to define the essence and substantiate the structural components of the readiness of future physical education and sports specialists for educational activities for/in the interests of sustainable development.

Methodology. The work is performed on the basis of a systematic, culturological, axiological, competent and holistic approaches to the readiness of future physical education and sports specialists for educational activities for/in the interests of sustainable development. General methods of analysis, systematization and generalization of information have been used.

Scientific novelty. For the first time the essence of readiness of future physical education and sports specialists for educational activity for/in the interests of sustainable development have been defined and its components have been characterized.

Conclusions. The readiness of future physical education and sports specialists for educational activities for/in the interests of sustainable development is a formed integrative professional and personal quality that combines the values of sustainable development, interest and motives, acquired knowledge and skills for educational activities for sustainable development.

It consists of such interrelated components as: motivational-value, which aims to form an understanding of the importance and inevitability of further development of mankind through sustainable development, awareness of the importance of education for sustainable development, vision and understanding of their own mission in education for sustainable development by specialists in physical culture and sports; cognitive, which is aimed at forming a system of knowledge in the field of sustainable development, vision of ways and results of integration of the provisions of sustainable development in the educational and training process of physical culture; ability to present information on sustainable development, combining it with the professional activities of a specialist in physical culture and sports, establishing interdisciplinary connections and promoting systematic thinking, and with the personal activities of the individual; activity, which involves a set of skills and abilities to apply the acquired knowledge in the field of education  for sustainable development in professional activities; and reflective, which involves the ability to assess their achievements, adjust and improve their activities in the field of educational activities for sustainable development.
