Abstract

The article considers the general principles of quality management determined by the Standard (ISO 9000) and the approaches to their implementation in companies activities. There has been analyzed the compliance of organization of T. H. Shevchenko National University Chernihiv Colehium» functioning with the specified principles. Perspectives are outlined and ways of implementing the ideology of Total Quality Management (TQM) into the activities of the university are proposed.

Article's purpose is to analyze the correspondence of the activities of the T.H. Shevchenko National University «Chernihiv Colehium» with the concept of total quality management, to find out how the specified concept can be applied in the university, which of the TQM principles can be implemented, and to develop some recommendations for the implementation of TQM into the university activities.

Methodology. Study and analysis of scientific publications, official documents of the university, interviews of representatives of different levels of management – deputy deans, heads of departments, employees of the department of internal quality assurance of education, summarization of personal management experience of the authors.

Scientific novelty. The activities of T. H. Shevchenko National University «Chernihiv Colehium» has been comprehensively analyzed relatively to the possibility of implementing the total quality management system defined by the International Organization for Standardization ISO 9000.

Conclusions. In the article have been examined the general principles of quality management system in the organization, namely: customer orientation; leadership of the manager; involving employees; process approach; evidence-based decision-making; mutually beneficial relations with suppliers; constant improvement of product quality. As a result of the analysis of the activities of the T. H. Shevchenko National University «Chernihiv Colehium» regarding the possibility of implementing the mentioned principles and the application of the concept of general quality management in the university, there has been obtained the conclusion that all the considered principles can be adhered with the proper efforts of the management and the support of the entire team. The basis for this system has been laid and the perspectives for its development certainly exist.
