Abstract

Continuous education is education throughout life, it is a means of adaptation in conditions of change. This is a process that covers the whole life of a person. This is an activity aimed at mastering and improving knowledge, skills and abilities that were acquired in the learning process, which ensures the development of the creative potential of an individual and the enrichment of his spiritual world. The modern education system is characterized by constant renewal, introduction of new technologies. Its dynamic transformation requires continuous professional development, acquisition of new knowledge, skills, and increased competence from the teacher as a carrier of information.

Professional development of a teacher is a process of continuous transformations in pedagogical activities that lead to sustainable development of professionalism. A teacher's professionalism is his integral characteristic. It consists of a combination of teaching and educational qualities. Professionalism is the ability to develop a student's personality through an educational subject. It is characterized by such concepts as: professional competence, professional skill, professional success, readiness to perform professional functions and continuous development.

The purpose of the article is to study the process of continuous professional development of physical education teachers in the conditions of change.

The methodological basis of the article is philosophical, psychological, pedagogical theories and provisions that reveal conceptual approaches to the researched issues.

The scientific novelty consists in considering the essence of continuous professional development of physical education teachers in the conditions of modernization of Ukrainian education.

Conclusions. Today, the national education system is characterized by modernization transformations, renewal, introduction of new technologies. The named processes are related to its reformation. Dynamic transformations of the educational system require from the teacher: continuous professional development, acquisition of new knowledge, skills, improvement of competence; finding teaching methods that would be effective, in new conditions, ensure the development of key competencies and end-to-end skills of students.
