FEATURES OF THE INFORMATION AND DIGITAL COMPETENCE FORMATION OF A VOCATIONAL EDUCATION TEACHER

The purpose of the work is the professional training teachers’ information and digital competence definition and theoretical justification in the process of professional training.
Methodology. The following research methods were used to achieve the goal: theoretical (study and analysis of psychological-pedagogical, official and regulatory documents; comparison and generalization of scientists' views on the problem) and empirical (observation of students' educational process).
Scientific novelty. The article specifies the essence of the concept of «information and digital competence». It is emphasized that the formation of information and digital competence of vocational education teachers provides the necessary skills and abilities for professional activity in a digital educational environment. It is also stated that information and digital competence is the ability of a professional education teacher to confidently, effectively, and safely choose and apply information and digital technologies when solving didactic tasks. It is emphasized that the digital competences formation level of a professional education teacher is an indicator that describes the readiness of the teacher to actively usage of digital technologies in the educational process.
Conclusions. Information and digital competence occupies a key place in the system of general competences of a professional education teacher. Digitization of education and the introduction of information technologies into the educational process involves improving the training of a vocational training specialist. The information and digital competence of a teacher of vocational training should be understood as a system of knowledge, abilities and skills regarding the use of information and digital technologies for communication with students, in pedagogical activities, and one's own professional development. Therefore, information and digital competence must be formed in the learning process thanks to the implementation of digital technologies, in particular online technologies, educational platforms, communication technologies, etc.
