METHODOLOGICAL APPROACHES IN THE STUDY OF THE HISTORY OF POLITICAL THOUGHT OF UKRAINE AND THE METHOD OF TEACHING IT TO STUDENTS OF HIGHER EDUCATION

Abstract

The actuality of the theme is due to the fact that today in the practice of teaching the course «History of Political Thought of Ukraine» various methodological approaches are used, which can significantly influence the very methodology of teaching this course to students of higher education in Ukraine. This problem was significantly actualized in connection with the russian aggression against Ukraine in 2014 and became very relevant with the beginning of the full-scale russian-Ukrainian war in February 2022. Today, scientists, teachers, political scientists and methodologists of Ukraine highlight in their works the key teaching methods for students of higher education of the course «History of political thought of Ukraine». Therefore, in our opinion, their detailed analysis is relevant.

The purpose of the work is to consider the currently relevant methodological approaches in the study of the history of Ukrainian political thought. In particular: anthropological, political-cultural and situational approaches. And to analyze the methodology of problem-based learning and comparative analysis of political processes when teaching the course «History of Political Thought of Ukraine» to students of higher education.

The methodological basis is the result of a scientific search for the optimal model for teaching the course «History of Political Thought of Ukraine» to students of higher education, which would be based on the humanism of political projects.

The scientific novelty of our research lies in the fact that the practical significance and expediency of using critical thinking techniques in the work of a political scientist with various historical-analytical and mass media information sources has been clarified.

Conclusions. The research conducted by us is related to the analysis of the use of currently relevant methodological approaches during the study of the history of political thought of Ukraine. It certifies that during the teaching of the course «History of Political Thought of Ukraine» to students of higher education, it is necessary to take as a basis humanistic models of political projects that can help in overcoming controversial situations in the analysis of political processes. In order to achieve positive dynamics for students of higher education in the study of the «History of Political Thought of Ukraine» course, it is advisable to use the method of problem-based learning, which, together with the application of critical thinking, is able to highlight the entire spectrum of political events.
