USE OF DIGITAL TECHNOLOGIES IN LEARNING ENGLISH IN THE HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTION

The article reveals the essence of the concept of «digital technologies» as a complex of methods, methods and means that provide processing, transmission and display of information aimed at increasing the efficiency of the educational process; the need for application is substantiated and the theoretical and practical aspects of using digital technologies in the process of learning English in the higher education institution.
The purpose of the article is to analyze concept of «digital technologies» and the definition of the main ways of their use in the process of learning English.
Methodology. To achieve the goal, general scientific methods were used, namely: analysis, synthesis and generalization of various aspects of the concept of «information technologies» and «digital technologies»; systematization and specification of theoretical information regarding the influence of digital technologies on the educational process of higher education institution.
The scientific novelty is to clarify the essence of the concept of «digital technologies» and clarifying the main advantages of using digital technologies in teaching English in the higher education institution.
Conclusions. It has been found that the digital technologies are effective tools that contribute to the preparation of an individual for an active life in society. They allow you to edit, expand and improve the social experience, making it more meaningful.
Thanks to the implementation of digital technologies in the educational process, the accessibility and efficiency of modern education is improved, as well as the readiness of future teachers to function in the information society. The use of digital technologies in teaching English at higher education institutions helps students learn the material effectively, using the latest tools, contributes to the achievement of positive results and allows building a new model of education, the essence of which is not only the transfer of information, but also learning to independently acquire knowledge, form and improve their digital skills and abilities.
