Abstract

The article focuses on the fact that education and sports are the main driving forces of the sustainable development of modern society. Education for sustainable development is designed to shape modern society with such thinking and worldview that can ensure ecological integrity, economic stability and social well-being in the lives of future generations. The educational and sports industry of the developed countries of the world has accumulated significant experience in activities in the interests of sustainable development. Training of all teaching staff for educational activities for sustainable development should be mandatory.

At T.H. Shevchenko National University «Chernihiv Colehium», there is an elective course «Sustainable development in physical culture and sports», which prepares future specialists for educational activities for sustainable development during physical culture lessons, physical culture and health and sports events.

The purpose of the work is to present the main steps of integrating the topic of sustainable development into the practice of a physical culture teacher.

Methodology. The work was performed on the basis of system, competence and value approaches. General logical methods of analysis, systematization and generalization of information are used.

The scientific novelty consists in the presentation of an algorithm for integrating the topic of sustainable development into the practice of a physical education teacher.

Conclusions. The main steps of integrating the topic of sustainable development into the work practice of a physical culture teacher are: familiarization with the concept and Goals of sustainable development; development of training programs on physical culture for general educational institutions in order to identify sustainability issues according to the age categories of students; development of existing methodical materials on issues of sustainability for teachers, in particular the educational and methodical complex «Green Package»; working out the experience of the activities of the sports industry of the developed countries of the world regarding issues of sustainability; elaboration of calendars of ecological and social dates; drawing up an annual plan of educational work on sustainable development; selection of appropriate material on chosen topics of sustainable development; inclusion of information on selected topics of sustainability in the content of mobile games, relays and other activities; preparation of didactic materials on issues of sustainable development.
