Abstract

The article analyzes the potential of an interdisciplinary approach for modernization and innovation in art education and design education. The authors explore the integration of knowledge from the fields of natural science, technology, engineering, art (art) and mathematics (STEAM). It is noted that such integration can expand opportunities for creative self-expression and prepare specialists who meet the needs of the modern generation of students.

The purpose of the work is to explore the potential of an interdisciplinary approach for modernization and innovation in art education and design education.

Methodology. The research is based on a complex methodological approach that combines theoretical methods: analysis of scientific literature, generalization of best pedagogical experience, systematic and logical analysis and empirical methods: questionnaires and surveys, method of expert evaluations, project method.

The scientific novelty of the research lies in the fact that it comprehensively investigates the potential of an interdisciplinary approach for modernization and innovation in art education and design education; methodical recommendations on the spread of interdisciplinary practices in art education and design education have been developed.
