Abstract

The psychological resilience of biathletes during competition, in particular during shooting,  is an important aspect of athletes' success. Biathlon is a combination of physical effort and mental  strength, as athletes must rely on their shooting skills under stress and psychological pressure.
The difficulties of shooting and its instability are caused by the maximum physical effort  exerted, as shooting is performed at a high heart rate and with a weapon in hand. Therefore, the  athletes' task is to maintain concentration and calmness to ensure accurate shooting. It is the  winners of the competition who stand out from the rest of the participants because of their ability to cope with stress and psychological pressure.
The purpose of the study is to theoretically analyze, define mental qualities, reveal the factors of psychological stability during biathlon shooting and offer the necessary recommendations.
Methodology Theoretical methods were used to realize the main objectives of the study: analysis, comparison, comparison and generalization.
The scientific novelty of the study is an in-depth study of the psychological stability of biathletes during shooting for the purposeful conduct of biathlon training in accordance with the recommendations.
Conclusions. As a result of the analysis of scientific sources, based on our own experience, we found that during competitive activity biathletes often feel nervous, which can cause psychological pressure and develop into stress.
The individual and personal qualities of biathletes, which are manifested in training and competitive activities, are determined.
The factors of psychological stability during shooting in biathlon are revealed. It is necessary  to develop psychological stability in biathletes during shooting in accordance with the  recommendations, which should be an important element of the training program. Psychological resilience will help to avoid stress, improve concentration and make the right decisions in important situations, especially during shooting. Biathlon competitions evoke different emotions in both athletes and spectators.
