DEVELOPMENT OF PSYCHOTECHNICS AS A PSYCHOLOGICAL AND PEDAGOGICAL FIELD: HISTORICAL EXPERIENCE OF EUROPEAN COUNTRIES

The purpose of the article is to analyze the experience of the development of psychotechnics in European countries in the first third of the 20th century with the aim of updating it for modern Ukrainian education.
Research methodology. The article is written on the basis of the analysis of the works of foreign scientists devoted to the problems of the development of psychotechnics, namely: the organization and content of professional orientation, professional selection and professional training. The article also analyzes the works of modern scientists related to the development of psychotechnics in foreign countries. In the research process such general scientific methods as analysis, synthesis, comparison, and generalization were used. We also used methods of historical-pedagogical research: historical-comparative, chronological, historical-structural, constructive-genetic.
Scientific novelty. The research for the first time analyzed and summarized the historical and pedagogical experience of the development of psychotechnics as a psychological and pedagogical field in foreign countries in the first third of the 20th century.
Conclusions. So, in the first third of the 20th century in European countries psychotechnics developed. Psychotechnics is a field that combined the ideas of psychology and pedagogy about the organization and content of professional training, professional consultations, professional orientation, professional selection with the aim of effective development of social production and the greatest realization of the individual in the process of work.
Further research may be related to deepening the study of foreign psychotechnics and the development of psychotechnics in Ukraine.
