Abstract

The article examines the process of forming future technology teachers' professional competences in accordance with the requirements of the Professional Standard 'Teacher of a General Secondary Education Institution'.

The purpose of the study is to determine the possibilities of educational components of the electrical engineering profile in forming the professional competences of a technology teacher in accordance with the Professional Standard.

The research methodology includes general theoretical methods: analysis and synthesis of regulatory and pedagogical literature on the research problem; comparison, systematisation, generalisation, interpretation of existing theoretical approaches and empirical results; analytical induction as a technique for forming universal statements about the essence and features of the organisation of classes in electrical engineering disciplines in order to form professionally important competences by the new Professional Standard.

Scientific novelty. The possibilities of forming professional competences of future technology teachers in the classroom in electrical engineering disciplines by the requirements of the Professional Standard are determined (in the first approximation).

Conclusions. After analysing the possibilities of electrical engineering disciplines for the formation of competences, knowledge, skills and abilities, and communication, which are set out in the Professional Standard 'Teacher of a General Secondary Education Institution', we can state the following: 1. The structure and content of the Professional Standard 'Teacher of a General Secondary Education Institution' are significantly different from the previous one, which requires revising the content of the educational components of the speciality 014.10 Secondary Education (Labour Training and Technology) to meet the requirements of the Professional Standard. 2. The implementation of the content of the educational components of the electrical engineering profile creates the basis for the formation of professional competences of a technology teacher in accordance with the Professional Standard ‘Teacher of a General Secondary Education Institution’. 3. It is necessary to improve the existing and introduce new methods of working with students in classes in the disciplines of the electrical engineering profile in order to more fully and thoroughly form the professional competences of future technology teachers. 4. There are more opportunities to gain professionally important knowledge, skills, and competences in full-time education than in distance education. Consequently, it is extremely important to find new methods of organising classes in electrical engineering disciplines that would better form the professionally important competences of future technology teachers in accordance with the requirements of the Professional Standard 'Teacher of a General Secondary Education Institution'.
