DIGITALIZATION OF TEACHING METHODS IN THE CONDITIONS OF DISTANCE EDUCATION

Abstract

The forced use of distance learning in educational institutions leads to an increase in the use of computer technology to establish two-way interaction between participants in the educational process. Training classes are conducted either partially or completely in the virtual space of video conferences and on the platform of electronic courses. This creates a need to review traditional teaching methods and their transformation to the new conditions of the digital educational space. The article describes and substantiates the list of didactic methods that need optimization. The content of the digitization of each teaching method is revealed and the method of their application is described to increase the effectiveness of conducting all stages of the lesson in the virtual space of the video conference.

The purpose of the article is to reveal the peculiarities of the use of digital technologies in lessons and the modernization of traditional teaching methods in the conditions of distance learning. Tasks of the article: 1) clarify the list of didactic methods that should be transformed; 2) determine the conditions for using digital technologies at different stages of the lesson; 3) describe the method of applying teaching methods in the virtual space of a video conference.

Methodology of research. The following research methods were used to solve the identified tasks in the work: search, theoretical analysis and systematization of scientific works and pedagogical experience on the research problem; interpretation and generalization of research results of scientists; development of methodical recommendations.

Scientific novelty. The concept of «digitization of the teaching method» has been clarified. New digital tools are proposed for the transformation of traditional teaching methods to the conditions of video conferencing and remote interaction between participants in the educational process.

Conclusions. In the conditions of conducting training sessions with the help of video conferencing services, the digitalization of teaching methods does not improve the effectiveness of their effects on the level of achievement of the learning outcomes determined by the educational program by students. This is the need to optimize traditional teaching methods to the new conditions of the digital educational environment of video conferencing. It is expedient to introduce new methodical approaches during the distance lesson: surveying, showing visualization, organizing joint and individual creative graphic work, finding new solutions to project problems, holding a discussion.
