EMOTIONAL CULTURE FORMATION IN PRIMARY SCHOOL STUDENTS AS A CONDITION FOR THEIR SUCCESSFUL SOCIALISATION

Abstract

The article focuses on the importance of primary school children’s emotional culture formation at Art classes as a condition for their successful socialisation. Scientific trends on the research analysis of the primary students’ emotional culture formation have been analysed. The educational documents proving the ability to regulate emotional state by means of art have been studied. Moreover, art is considered as a component of the individual emotional culture condition for the successful socialisation and determined among the mandatory learning outcomes of primary school students.
The main issues highlighting the essence of the emotional culture phenomenon have been outlined. The authors’ definition of the term «emotional culture» has been suggested. The content and component structure of the primary school students’ emotional culture have been explained.
Article’s purpose is to analyse scientific and pedagogical literature and reveal the essence and content of the individual emotional culture; determine the structure, and justify the importance of Art lessons in the primary school children’s formation as a condition for their successful socialisation.
Methodology. The methodological basis of the research is the following: philosophical view on nature, human being’s essence, and their development in activity; issues on the essence and conditions of personality development at primary school age; formation of the schoolchildren’s emotional sphere and culture; ideas on the emotional culture structure; conceptual issues on the place and role of emotions; comprehension and understanding of the personal emotions; emotional culture’s social and adaptive potential.
The research has been done basing on the methods of theoretical analysis of scientific literature including abstraction, synthesis, and generalization.
Scientific novelty is to clarify the meaning of the concept «emotional culture», determine its content and component structure, justify the importance of Art lessons for the emotional culture formation in primary schoolchildren as a condition for their successful socialisation.
Conclusions. It was concluded that in the process of socialisation of an individual, the formation of emotional culture is of essential importance. The problem of the emotional sphere culture formation, is especially relevant for students of primary school age. Since at this period,
children actively join the social environment, and enrich their experience of interaction and communication. The importance of Art lessons in emotional culture formation in primary schoolchildren has been proved. The component structure of emotional culture, developed in the course of the research, outlines the content criteria for researching the state of its formation in primary school students.
The issues of defining and approving pedagogical conditions and methods for emotional culture formation in primary schoolchildren at Art lessons require the further study. It will significantly increase the level of students’ socialisation.
