Abstract

The article examines the relationship between the courses taught to students of the educational program «Secondary Education (Physical Culture)»: «Fundamentals of Computer Technologies and Methods of Their Application» and «Hygiene of Physical Education and the Fundamentals of Health preservation». Various solutions have been developed regarding the use of computer technologies in teaching these disciplines and continuing the study of specific topics throughout subsequent semesters.

Objective. To demonstrate the algorithm for applying computer technologies in the course «Hygiene of Physical Education and Fundamentals of Health рreservation» and to present the methodology for its implementation using Excel spreadsheets.

The methodology is based on the study of educational and methodological materials from the course «Hygiene of Physical Education and Fundamentals of Health Preservation», analysis of software capabilities, using methods of mathematical calculations, modeling, and computer technology tools.

Scientific novelty. Using the functionality of MS Excel, an electronic spreadsheet was created to monitor the physical development indicators of individuals aged 3 to 19 years within the framework of the topic: Assessment of the Physical Development of Children and Adolescents Using the Sigma Deviation Method. Additionally, a step-by-step guide was provided for creating a template for further use in computer technology courses.

Conclusions. Computer technologies in education form the foundation for innovative teaching methods, enabling the fulfillment of students’ individual needs, fostering their personal development, and enhancing the accessibility of education and opportunities for lifelong learning. It has been noted that students in the «Hygiene of Physical Education and Fundamentals of Health Preservation» course have increasingly utilized Excel spreadsheets to analyze their health and perform calculations for their relatives. During the completion of assignments, they highlighted the convenience of using spreadsheets, the reduction in time required to complete tasks, the instant results obtained when constructing a regression scale graph, and the ability to determine physical development groups.
