Abstract

The dynamic development of domestic education requires the teacher to continuously acquire new knowledge, skills, improve competence, and introduce new technologies. One of the consequences of this process is the introduction of a personality-oriented approach into the educational process. In the education of students in higher education institutions, this approach is determined by the integrity of the process of forming an individual, the development of physical and mental abilities, and moral qualities. Personality-oriented education is organized on the basis of taking into account the individual capabilities and needs of the student, treating him as a subject of the educational process. This is a specially organized pedagogical process that is purposeful, systematic, and continuous. The general goal of the educational process is to form a creative, active, and independent personality, striving for self-improvement and self-development. Therefore, the formation of personality becomes a priority goal of training a specialist.

The purpose of the article is to consider a personality-oriented approach in the educational process of a higher education institution, in the context of physical education of future teachers.

The methodological basis of the article are philosophical, psychological, pedagogical theories and regulations that reveal the conceptual approaches due to the studied issues.

The scientific novelty lies in the fact that the article examines the essence of a personality-oriented approach in the educational process of a higher education institution, in the context of physical education of future teachers.

Conclusions. The personality-oriented approach is determined by the integrity of the process of forming an individuality, the development of physical and mental abilities, and the moral qualities of the student. When using a personality-oriented approach in the physical education of students of higher educational institutions, attention is focused on the formation of a holistic personality, the humanization of its potential, the development of subjectivity, and the ability to self-determination. The teacher's task is to shape the student's personality through cooperation, assimilation of physical culture values, independence, activity, creative approach, and enrichment of the subjective experience of self-improvement.
