Abstract

Current research in the field of epigenetics expands the understanding of the mechanisms of influence of external factors on human health. Epigenetic changes, in particular DNA methylation, histone modification and non-coding RNA, play a key role in the development of chronic diseases, which are significant for public health programs. The influence of environmental factors, lifestyle and nutrition on the epigenetic status of an individual opens up new prospects in the prevention and control of diseases. This work analyzes the mechanisms of epigenetic changes, their potential in creating individualized public health strategies, as well as the possibilities of implementing epigenetic biomarkers for early diagnosis and prevention of diseases. The methodological basis of the study is the analysis of scientific literature, comparison of modern approaches in the field of epigenetics and public health, as well as assessment of the effectiveness of integrating epigenetic approaches into preventive programs. The results of the study demonstrate the significant potential of epigenetics in the development of personalized health care measures, which can contribute to reducing the burden of chronic diseases and improving the general health of the population.

The purpose of the study is to analyze the mechanisms of epigenetic influence on human health and assess the possibilities of using epigenetic approaches in public health programs for the prevention and early diagnosis of diseases.

Methodology. The study is based on an interdisciplinary approach, which includes the analysis of modern scientific literature, systematization of data on epigenetic mechanisms and their impact on human health, as well as comparison of existing preventive programs with potential epigenetic strategies. Methods of bibliographic analysis, content analysis of scientific articles, as well as the method of comparative analysis were used to assess the effectiveness of various approaches in the field of public health.

Scientific novelty. The current data on epigenetic mechanisms of influence on human health in the context of public health are summarized. The role of epigenetic biomarkers in early diagnosis and prevention of diseases is outlined. Possible ways of integrating epigenetic approaches into public health programs are proposed. The prospects for personalized disease prevention based on epigenetic changes are identified.

Conclusions. Epigenetic mechanisms play a key role in the development of chronic diseases, which emphasizes the need to take them into account in public health programs. The influence of environmental factors, lifestyle and nutrition on the epigenetic status of a person opens up new opportunities for early diagnosis and prevention of diseases. Epigenetic biomarkers can be used to individualize approaches to the prevention and treatment of diseases. The integration of epigenetic approaches into public health will contribute to reducing the prevalence of chronic diseases and improving the health of the population. The development of epigenetic research allows predicting the effectiveness of medical and preventive measures. The use of personalized strategies based on epigenetic mechanisms is a promising direction in public health. Further research in this area may contribute to the development of new approaches to the prevention and treatment of diseases that take into account the epigenetic profile of the individual.
