The article examines the results of a study on the use of optoelectronic systems in improving shooting techniques among students within the educational process. The authors provide information on the methodology for conducting shooting training sessions for athletes at various levels of preparedness. Based on previous works by the author, the main principles of law enforcement officer training at different stages of firearms instruction are also outlined.
The purpose of the article was to explore the introduction of mandatory Basic General Military Training (BGMT) for students of higher education institutions. This innovation is part of a comprehensive reform of the national military training system and is implemented in accordance with amendments to the Law of Ukraine «On Military Duty and Military Service», signed by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi on January 15, 2025 [6].
The research methodology is determined by the process of integrating modern technologies into the educational framework and is based on the application of personal, informational, and systemic approaches in the professional training of higher education students. The study employs general scientific methods such as analysis and systematization of scientific and instructional sources; observation of the educational process; systematization and generalization of personal athletic experience and the authors’ long-term academic and teaching practice.
The scientific novelty lies in clarifying the influence and potential of modern technologies to enhance the shooting skills of higher education students. Furthermore, a combined approach to the training process–using modern technologies alongside practical exercises–creates favorable conditions under which the development of motor skills facilitates shooter training at all stages, thus easing their progression to more advanced levels.
Conclusions. The use of technologies to practice accurate shooting techniques demonstrates positive dynamics in the development of shooting abilities among athletes and students in general. It should be noted that basic military training for students is critically important for strengthening the national defense forces, with shooting being one of its key components.
