Abstract

The article examines the problem of the readiness of physical culture and sports specialists to provide pre-medical care in emergency conditions caused by sports injuries as an important component of professional competence. The relevance of the study is determined by the increasing intensity of educational-training and competitive activities, the spread of mass and youth sports, the growing risk of acute injuries and critical conditions, as well as the limited possibilities for the prompt involvement of emergency medical services in the conditions of a sports venue.

The purpose of the study is to analyze the level of readiness of physical culture and sports specialists, in particular coaches and higher education students majoring in «Physical Culture and Sports», to provide pre-medical care in emergency conditions caused by sports injuries.

Methodology: is based on the application of theoretical methods (analysis, generalization, and systematization of scientific and educational-methodological sources) and empirical methods, in particular questionnaires administered to coaches and higher education students. The level of readiness was assessed according to cognitive, activity-based, and reflective components, followed by quantitative and qualitative analysis of the results.

The scientific novelty lies in identifying the level of readiness of coaches and higher education students majoring in «Physical Culture and Sports» to act in emergency situations related to sports injuries and in substantiating the existence of a gap between theoretical training and the practical ability to effectively apply pre-medical care algorithms.

Conclusions. An insufficient level of practical readiness of a significant proportion of respondents to provide pre-medical care in life-threatening conditions was established. The expediency of strengthening the practice-oriented and simulation-based components of training as a mandatory element of forming the professional competence of physical culture and sports specialists is substantiated.
