Abstract

Article’s purpose. The article highlights the views of Vasyl Sukhomlynskyi on word’s pedagogical power, teacher’s words, educator, parents in working with children in an extremely disturbing time for the children of Ukraine, during the war: how to calm children, make feel that close people are side by side, stop the manifestations of aggression and anxiety state.

Methodology. In a series of articles and pedagogical manuals such as «Word for Word», «Attention: Child», «The Teacher’s Word in Moral Education», «Pedagogy of the Heart», «Birth of Good», «Word and Emotional Culture», «Understanding of Life, good and Evil in it», «Joy and kindness, strength and conscience in the children’s collectivity» and others.

Scientific novelty. The sincere, soulful, frank word addressed to children can help teachers. The world-famous Ukrainian pedagogue and scientist Vasyl Sukhomlynskyi gives advice to educators (teachers, parents) on how to use the pedagogical protective power of the word in working with children in an extremely disturbing time during the war in Ukraine. The scientist characterizes moral and ethical categories of the word that can evoke in a child.

Conclusions. Such moral and ethical categories are Joy, Kindness, Beauty, Happiness, as well as a positive emotional state stimulated by the corresponding emotional situations. At the same time, the scientist warns that can be different words which are saturated with negative emotions of adults and it absolutely should not be in the educational influence of adults.
