THE ROLE OF EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF STRESS RESILIENCE OF FUTURE SPECIALISTS IN SOCIONOMIC PROFESSIONS UNDER MARTIAL LAW

Abstract

The article highlights methods of stress reduction and the stages of training in self-control, and presents the stages and pedagogical conditions for the development of emotional intelligence in higher education students during the learning process. It is determined that the majority of researchers of emotional intelligence have focused on its structural components and characteristics as factors of professional development and emotional self-control as a determinant of stress resilience in future specialists of socionomic professions, as well as on the causes and factors contributing to the emergence of stress. The authors conducted a survey to determine the role of emotions as a resource for coping with stress. It was found that a low level of emotional intelligence development leads to prolonged stress and negatively affects a person’s vital activity. The development of empathy and self-control, as well as the ability to make appropriate decisions in interaction situations, is facilitated by interactive learning methods (role-playing games, training sessions, exercises) during seminars and practical classes. It is emphasized that the development of emotional intelligence ensures stress resilience, readiness to work with people, enables better emotion regulation, and helps establish trusting relationships, which is essential for the professional activity of specialists in socionomic professions.

Purpose of the Article: to analyze the problem of developing emotional intelligence and stress resistance as the basis for the professional development of future specialists in the socio-economic sphere and to show the stages of learning their self-control, to determine the phases and pedagogical conditions, to apply known methods of interactive learning in new conditions for the development of emotional intelligence and stress resistance.

Research Methodology: analysis of scientific publications that highlight emotional intelligence as a resource for overcoming stress. The theoretical and methodological basis of the article is made up of didactic principles and theories of learning, as well as a system of interactive methods and tools that ensure the development of emotional intelligence of future specialists in socio-economic professions for the formation of stress resistance. The empirical study was conducted during October 2024 – April 2025. The sample consisted of 175 applicants for the second (master's) level of higher education (aged 25 to 50 years), who study at the State Institution of Higher Education «University of Educational Management» in the educational and professional program «Psychology». In order to determine the role of emotions as a resource for overcoming stress, a survey was conducted using the questionnaire method. The questionnaire was carried out in the following areas: 1. Awareness of the connection between emotional intelligence and behavior in stressful situations. 2. Determination of the ability to control one's own emotions. 3. Determination of the level of stress resistance. To determine the level of emotional intelligence and stress resistance in students, the following indicators were adopted: low, medium, high. The survey was conducted at the initial and final stages of the study.

Scientific Novelty: is that, based on theoretical analysis, the role of emotional intelligence was highlighted and the connection between it and stress resistance was established, pedagogical conditions were developed and stages of self-control training of future specialists in the socionomic sphere were determined based on emotional intelligence, a new approach was introduced into the practice of using interactive teaching methods (training, exercise, role-playing game) for the development of emotional intelligence in future specialists in socionomic professions, which ensures the formation of empathy, the development of the cognitive sphere and the ability to self-control and overcome stress.

Conclusions: based on the results of the study, methods of stress reduction, stages, and pedagogical conditions for the development of emotional intelligence in future specialists of socionomic professions have been identified. These are aimed at forming their readiness for further professional activity in the «human-human» system, as well as their ability to act adequately and make appropriate decisions. The training of future specialists in the socionomic sphere should take into account the specifics of their professional activity, which is characterized by interpersonal interaction, emotionality, and stressful situations, the need to regulate one’s own emotions and understand the emotions of others, and adaptation to stressful conditions.
