Abstract

The article outlines the prospects for applying phenomenological analysis in cultural studies and presents the conceptual framework for teaching the course «Phenomenology of Culture» to higher education students majoring in Philosophy. Particular attention is paid to revealing the potential of phenomenology for a deeper understanding of cultural phenomena.

The purpose of the article is a theoretical reflection on phenomenological analysis as a methodological tool of contemporary cultural studies and the identification of its educational prospects within the context of the humanities through the presentation of the author’s vision of the course «Phenomenology of Culture».

Research methodology. The methodological foundation of the study is the phenomenological approach, in particular, the concepts of intentionality, the lifeworld, and phenomenological reduction, which make it possible to analyze cultural phenomena from the perspective of their meaningful givenness in the subject’s consciousness. The article also employs a systemic approach that enables the identification of cultural phenomena. Elements of the hermeneutic and comparative methods, as well as general scientific methods of analysis and synthesis, are applied to form structural patterns of culture. The comprehensive use of these methods ensures the integrity and scholarly validity of the research.

Scientific novelty of the study lies in the integrated interpretation of the educational potential of phenomenological analysis in cultural studies. The phenomenological approach is considered not only as a theoretical and methodological basis for cultural research, but also as an effective instrument for transforming the educational process, performing not only a cognitive but also a practical function. An attempt is made to develop and substantiate the author’s own approach to teaching the course «Phenomenology of Culture», which may contribute to the formation of practical skills for a deeper philosophical comprehension of culture.

Conclusions. The study concludes that phenomenological analysis opens broad educational prospects for cultural studies by fostering a deeper understanding of culture as a space of human experience and meaning-making. Its application enables students to develop a critical, reflective, and profound vision of culture, as well as practical skills of philosophical interpretation of cultural being.
