EDUCATION OF THE NATIONAL CONSCIOUSNESS OF CHILDREN THROUGH FAMILIARIZATION WITH THE FOLKLORE HERITAGE OF THE NATIVE LAND

The purpose of the article. Substantiation of the significance and determination of the main methods of using the folklore heritage of the native region for educating the national consciousness of the younger generation in general secondary and extra-curricular education.
Methodology. The methodological basis of the research is general scientific methods: analysis, synthesis, generalization, systematization; principles of scientificity, historicism, dialectics, objectivity. Of fundamental importance is the study of archival documents, analysis and compa-rison of scientific-methodical and psychological-pedagogical literature, pedagogical observation of phenomena and processes related to the formation of children's national consciousness.
The scientific novelty of the research consists in the use of the folklore heritage of cultural figures of the native region, on the example of Vasyl Polevyk, for the formation of the national consciousness of the younger generation in general secondary and extra-curricular education institutions.
Conclusions. A detailed study of archival documents, library publications and an analysis of meetings with people who personally knew Vasily Polevik, were his students and continue to popularize his folklore heritage in the Snovsky City United Territorial Society made it possible to state the need for widespread use of folk song art as an effective means of formation, formation and development national consciousness of the younger generation in institutions of general secondary and extracurricular education. In the future, it is necessary to introduce into the pedagogical process of higher education the study of the folklore heritage of prominent figures of the Chernihiv region in the preparation of the following specialties: 014 Secondary Education (Musical Art), 025 Music, 028 Socio-cultural event management, which are capable of forming national consciousness, dignity and ethnic belonging to the younger generation his people.
