STRATEGIC COMPETENCE IN THE CONTEXT OF MODERN FOREIGN SCIENTIFIC AND METHODOLOGICAL RESEARCH

Abstract

The article emphasizes the need to develop strategic competency. The views of modern foreign scientists on the essence and content of the interpretation of the concept of «strategic competence» are analyzed. Over 10 definitions of the term «strategic competence» have been considered in the context of modern foreign scientific and methodological researches.

The purpose of this work is to consider the interpretation of the term «strategic competence» in contemporary foreign scientific and methodological research.

The methodological basis of the article is the philosophical, psychological, pedagogical theories and propositions that reveal the conceptual approaches to the investigated problems.

The scientific novelty is to obtain an analysis of the problem of the definition of the term «strategic competence» in contemporary foreign scientific and methodological research.

Conclusions. Foreign scholars define strategic competence as the ability of the individual to use verbal and non-verbal communicative strategies in the process of communication in order to: 1) compensate communication difficulties; 2) achieve communication goals and objectives; 3) improve the efficiency of the communication process; 4) prevent communication disruption. It has been established that strategic competence can be considered in two ways: broad and narrow. Analysis of modern foreign scientific and methodological literature on the study of strategic competence revealed the lack of a unified view among scientists on the structure and content of strategic competence. Therefore, the prospects for further research are to determine the structure and content of strategic competence, requirements for the level of strategic competence.
