PROFESSIONAL TRAINING OF FUTURE PHYSICAL THERAPY EXPERIENCES BACHELOR'S DEGREE IN AUSTRIA

Abstract

Article's purpose. The purpose of the article is to study the experience of professional training of specialists in physical therapy by bachelor's degree in higher education institutions in Austria.

Methodology. Methods such as theoretical analysis, synthesis, and generalization were used to achieve the goal of the study.

Scientific novelty. The article describes features of professional training of future specialists in physical therapy by Bachelor degree in Austria, provides information about higher education institutions and duration of study at the first bachelor level, organizational and scientific activity of students, presents the difference between practical professional practice, theoretical training, theoretical mainly to develop the skills of independent search work in the field of theory and practice in the chosen specialty.

Conclusions. The results of the study show that the professional training of physiotherapy and ergotherapy specialists in Austria is a modular training system which, in addition to lectures and seminars, also offers space for interdisciplinary project work and parallel internships. The bachelor's programs of training of physical therapy specialists in the higher education institutions of Austria are designed for six semesters. Bachelor's studies are completed with the defense of scientific work and passing the exam, which results in the graduate being awarded a bachelor's degree, and a corresponding diploma is issued. The training of future specialists in physical therapy at the Bachelor level is 180 ECTS credits. Within the bachelor's degree in physiotherapy, students acquire theoretical knowledge, practical skills and prerequisites, which is a prerequisite for autonomous professional activity in the field of physiotherapy. The curriculum takes into account that graduates must possess the social and communication skills and self-competence required to work with patients / clients and as part of a multidisciplinary team. The main areas of study include the basics of physiotherapy and biomedicine; pain, pain syndromes, pain management; physiotherapy methods; physiotherapy interventions for various dysfunctions; internship.
