Abstract

In the modern digital era, there is an urgent need to improve the process of obtaining higher education remotely. One of the ways to optimize the educational process is the rational use of online services, taking into account the learning goals, the conditions of the distance learning organization, and the possibilities of online resources.

The purpose of the article. To determine the ways of using online services, in particular, the Wordwall platform in the process of foreign language learning of students – future foreign language teachers in the conditions of distance learning in synchronous mode.

Methodology is based on traditional theoretical research methods such as analysis, generalization, systematization and modeling of the process of forming foreign language communicative competence of future foreign language teachers within the framework of a practical foreign language course.

Scientific novelty. This is the first attempt to outline and characterize the ways of using the Wordwall online service within the framework of a practical foreign language course in the conditions of distance learning in synchronous mode in higher education institutions.

Conclusions. Within the scope of our research, two priority ways of using the Wordwall online service have been identified, namely: the use of exercises to form particular components of students’ foreign language communicative competence (reproductive lexical and grammatical skills, speaking skills) and the creation of their own exercises by students to form a number of methodological competence skills (communicative-educational, communicative-organizational, constructive-technological, information-technological, gnostic, evaluative-analytical and reflective skills).
