Abstract

The purpose of the study is to analyze the information and communication aspects of the formation of globalist thinking of young people with an emphasis on its European vector in the context of the socio-cultural functions of higher education in Ukraine, taking into account its current educational imperatives.

Methodology. The methodological basis of the study is based on the principles of scientificity, objectivity, general scientific methods (logic, induction, deduction, analysis, synthesis) and special methods – narrative, generalization, structural and functional analysis, etc.

The scientific novelty lies in the problem statement, substantiation and formulation of the tasks of higher education in Ukraine in shaping the globalist thinking of Ukrainian youth with an emphasis on its European vector and information and communication aspects.

Conclusions. The formation of globalist thinking of young people, including its European vector, in the context of the activities of the national higher education system is the call of the times, primarily in terms of global trends in world development within the current stage of accelerated (diffuse) globalization, of which the processes of European integration are an organic component. And also from the point of view of Ukraine's defending its existence as a subject of international relations, as a physical society, defending the values of democracy in countering Russia's hybrid aggression and having unprecedented support from the international community. In the context of the educational imperatives of Ukraine's higher education system, it is about shaping the responsibility of the younger generation for the fate of their democratic state as a European one and the fate of the global community as a whole. Such tasks require amendments to the relevant State Standards and the introduction of disciplines into the cycle of general training of higher education students, the content of which will contribute to the formation of globalist thinking, especially its European vector («Philosophy of Global Problems of Humanity», «Megatrends of World Development», «Global History of Ukraine», etc.) The practical aspects of implementing such tasks should include communication between students and the foreign public in order to inform the world about the values of Ukrainians, which in the past corresponded and still correspond to the values of the Western world.
