LINGUISTIC EXPERTISE IN THE LEGAL FIELD: TEACHING PROSPECTS FOR FUTURE LAWYERS

Abstract

The aim of the study is to determine the prospects for teaching the basics of linguistic expertise in the legal field for future lawyers in the context of normative and selective educational components.

Methodology. During the study, a number of different methods of scientific research were used, in particular: analysis of scientific literature on the research problem – in order to determine the state of development of the issue and outline the prospects for its research; comparison – to compare the views of different scientists on the problem under study; induction and deduction, systematization and generalization – to formulate conclusions. The research was carried out on the basis of a combination of the provisions of a number of methodological approaches, in particular: competence (to determine the role and place of linguistic expertise in the formation of professional competence of future specialists in the field of law), activity (involving future lawyers in active educational activities in the process of mastering general theoretical aspects related to the application of linguistic expertise), axiological (to form a system of value and worldview orientations of future specialists in the field of law during familiarization with the basics of conducting linguistic expertise).

Scientific novelty. The article characterizes the state of development of linguistic expertise in Ukrainian scientific discourse, outlines the prospects for teaching the basics of linguistic expertise in the legal field for future lawyers in the context of normative and selective educational components

Conclusions. At the present stage, linguistic expertise is gaining special significance in the context of external and internal threats and challenges, and this intensifies the development of theoretical and practical foundations of Ukrainian linguistic expertise, in particular the creation of typologies, outlining the methodology for conducting various types of expertise, etc. This has actualized the need to familiarize future specialists in the field of law with the theoretical foundations of linguistic expertise and to form in them the skills to carry out, first of all, semantic and textual expertise of oral and written speech. It is justified that it is advisable to introduce a mandatory or selective educational component in legal and linguistic expertise at the second level of higher education, as well as to introduce certain topics into the academic discipline «Ukrainian Language and Fundamentals of Office Management» at the bachelor's degree.
