Abstract

In modern science, the problems of health and a healthy lifestyle often go beyond the boundaries of health care. Improving the life of any society involves the awareness of the leading role of education in affirming the self-worth of the human personality, the priority of universal human values, and is based on the axiological component, which in physical education is considered as a set of stable values of physical culture.

The purpose of the work is to develop, improve, and implement into the educational process a system for forming the value attitude of higher education students towards a healthy lifestyle.

Research methodology. To achieve the goal, the following methods were used: analysis of literary sources to determine the theoretical aspects of the formation of a value attitude towards a healthy lifestyle; experimental method to verify the effectiveness of the system for forming a value attitude towards a healthy lifestyle; questionnaire method to assess the level of its formation in higher education applicants; statistical analysis of the results of the experiment.

The scientific novelty lies in supplementing and improving the system for forming a value attitude towards a healthy lifestyle. The proposed system allows to increase the efficiency of forming a value attitude of higher education students towards a healthy lifestyle.

Conclusions. The concept of a healthy lifestyle is much broader than giving up bad habits, adhering to a rational work and rest regime, healthy eating, a system of developmental exercises that serve as hardening and general physical development. It also includes the attitude towards oneself, towards other members of society, towards one’s own life, as well as understanding the essence of being, life goals and values. Therefore, to cultivate a value-based attitude towards one’s own health, it is necessary to both expand the idea of health and skillfully use the entire spectrum of factors that influence the system of health components (physical, mental, social and spiritual), master a complex of health-improving, general strengthening methods and technologies, and consciously form a focus on a healthy lifestyle.
