The article substantiates the great importance for preserving the mental health of student youth of such an individual personality trait as psycho-emotional stability in connection with increased anxiety and the permanent effect of stressors of modern life. The relationship of psycho-emotional stability with various volitional qualities and psychological characteristics of the personality of students is determined and the possibilities of its formation in the process of physical education are revealed using exercises of a situational nature and speed-power orientation. Given the high popularity of boxing among young men, the feasibility of its use for the formation of psycho-emotional stability of students is confirmed.
The purpose of the article is to verify the effectiveness of the technology of forming psycho-emotional stability of students by means of boxing in the process of physical education
Methodology. The study used methods for assessing the psycho-emotional state and indicators of the volitional sphere of the personality of students, in particular the SAN method (well-being, activity, mood), the method of self-assessment of the level of anxiety of Ch. D. Spielberger and Yu. L. Khanin, the Boston test of self-assessment of personality stress resistance, the V. Yu. Shcherbatykh test for diagnosing the level of stress, the minute tapping test in the modification of V. I. Ryzhkov for diagnosing the strength of the nervous system.
The scientific novelty lies in the scientific substantiation of the technology of forming the psycho-emotional stability of students by means of boxing and confirmation of its effectiveness in the process of physical education.
Conclusions: An important feature of the proposed technology of forming the psycho-emotional stability of students by means of boxing is the consideration of the individual-typological properties of the nervous system as an important prognostic sign – a predictor, which is characterized by stability and is little susceptible to pedagogical influence. The effectiveness of the developed technology is confirmed by a statistically significant improvement in the indicators of psycho-emotional stability of student youth.
