Abstract

The article provides a detailed comparative analysis of educational programs in the specialty «Design» at Chernihiv Polytechnic National University (Ukraine) and Lodz University of Technology (Poland). The compared indicators are, first of all, mandatory educational components, the number of credits, the distribution of hours for practical training, forms of organization of the educational process, the duration of study. Directions for improving the effectiveness of training specialists in the field of design in Ukraine based on the experience of Lodz University of Technology are given.

The purpose of the article is to provide a comparative description of the educational programs of the specialty «Design» at Chernihiv Polytechnic National University and Lodz Technical University and to reveal the possibilities of creative use of progressive ideas of Polish experience for training specialists in the field of design in the education system of Ukraine.

Methodology of the study. The work is based on a comparative analysis of educational programs in the specialty «Design» at Chernihiv Polytechnic National University and Lodz University of Technology. The methods of analysis of literary sources, as well as educational programs of the specialty «Design» were used. The experience of the Department of Architecture and Design of Chernihiv Polytechnic National University is taken into account.

Scientific novelty. The comparison of educational programs in the specialty «Design» at Chernihiv Polytechnic National University and Lodz University of Technology is conducted for the first time.

Conclusions. Educational programs in the specialty «Design» at Chernihiv Polytechnic National University and Lodz University of Technology are characterized by a similar list of educational components. One of the main differences is the greater number of hours allocated for practice at the Polish university. Thus, strengthening the practice-oriented nature of education at Ukrainian universities in the specialty «Design» can be considered a promising direction, an example of which are universities in Poland, in particular, Lodz University of Technology.
