Abstract

The article highlights the peculiarities of the implementation of the Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) as a leading method of teaching foreign languages in Europe. Its definition has been researched and specified as a modern mechanism for the formation of the professional competence of a future highly qualified specialist with the simultaneous mastery of a foreign language, which contributes to the comprehensive development of the personality, activates the desire to further study a foreign language and ensures the formation of a competitive specialist who is able to choose a worthy profession in the world labor market in the future.
It has been proven that the introduction of subject-language integrated training into the educational process activates the cognitive qualities of students and motivates them to study one or another academic discipline in a foreign language.
The purpose of work is to clarify the interpretation of the concept of CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning) and outline the features of its implementation as a leading method of teaching foreign languages in Europe.
Methodology. The article uses the analysis of scientific sources and practical experience at the philosophical and general scientific levels of knowledge. The methodological basis of the research is a system-activity approach, a synergistic approach, an informational approach, a cultural approach to the analysis of pedagogical research and practical experience of the organization and content of the Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) as a leading method of teaching foreign languages in Europe. The work was based on historical, terminological, functional, systemic, cognitive (cognitive) principles of scientific knowledge.
The scientific novelty is that, based on the analysis of scientific sources devoted to this issue and practical experience, the definition of the concept of the Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) has been specified. Features of its implementation as a leading method of teaching foreign languages in Europe are outlined.
Conclusions. 1. The Content and Language Integrated Learning is a modern mechanism for the formation of the professional competence of a future highly qualified specialist with the simultaneous mastery of a foreign language, which contributes to the comprehensive development of the personality, activates the desire to further study a foreign language and ensures the formation of a competitive specialist who is able to choose a worthy profession on the labor market in the future the world
2. The process of formation of foreign language communication skills by students of secondary schools, students of higher educational institutions becomes more effective with the use of technologies subject-language integrated training as an innovative method of training highly qualified specialists in various fields of knowledge.
